When your last house-guest has gone, and the laundry has been washed and folded — lock the door. Turn off the phone and sign out of Facebook. Turn up the A/C and turn out the lights. Let your friends think you fled for the south of France, then run a bath — a nice, cool bath with tiny drops of gardenia-scented Monoi Tiare Tahiti Oil to make your skin moist like Brando’s Tarita in Mutiny on the Bounty. Oh, did I forget to mention placing a chilled bottle of Red Stripe on ice within arm’s reach? And, lighting a Malin + Goetz Cannabis candle? Now you’re ready to soak. But, nuh-uh, no getting up for a second beer. One must not drink and dunk. Remember Whitney.

Alone at last. Wash your troubles away with Santa Maria Novella Shower Foam. Almost like being in Firenze. Inhale that wonderful smell! Drain tub then rinse off in shower. Now shampoo hair thoroughly with detergent-free, aromatherapeutic Rahua Shampoo then air dry in the buff on your veranda wearing nothing but Pura Vida‘s sexy anklets. Woo-hoo! I’m home!

Ever yoga naked? No, not at David Barton. Well, now’s the time. Who’s to know? Slide in a Yoga DVD and slip your mat out of its luxury home — Eric Javits’ fabric-lined, navy-striped Om Yoga Mat bag made of Squishee® material with calf leather trim — the envy of all your yoga-mates. Namaste. Now centered and refreshed, pretend you’re barefoot in East Africa and pad around the house in a colorful, soft Laini Kikoy sarong made in Kenya by Kasuku Kikoy. Now clear the couch. Pick up a good book — Kristen Schaal’s Sexy Book of Sexy Sex.

But, hark! Who’s knocking on my front door? Could it be the British hunk who moved in across the way? Peek-a-boo peephole says yeah. There is a god!

“Coming!” I shout as I roll on Alvarez Gomez Agua de Colonia deodorant and double-check the expiration date on my home supply of Sir Richard’s Pleasure Dots condoms.

It’s the morning after Daniel Campana‘s 51st birthday party, and the boy looks 12. (Add moustache and goatee.) It’s Sunday in South Beach, and the natives are still sleeping. Not this guy. He just jogged along the beach on the boardwalk, a first thing to do when in Miami, his sweet home away from home. In New York, Daniel bikes to work across town to Kenneth Cole HQ, where he has designed menswear for the sporty fashion label for the last 15 years.

“I was the third hire,” says the design director, obviously amused at the hula-ness of Hyde lounge at the new SLS Hotel. Scantily clad wahine waitresses in flawless salon tans circle the pool. Daniel orders a tropical fruit plate for breakfast. (The soy sauce is for my sushi).

“I just love Miami!” says the born-and-bred Connecticut native. “I love going to the beach here! It’s great! And, I can ride my bike everywhere!” There’s an ebullient joie de vivre about Daniel that’s so catching, you can actually feel the love, his enthusiasm for life and living here. We ask him to name his favorite Babalu things. He immediately says “that deodorant [Malin+Goetz]…love it! The best!”

We mention four new items every uber-cyclist must have: 1) Bookman flashing bike lights to wrap on your handlebars; 2) natural fit Incase Capsule-in-Ear headphones; 3) Illesteva Leonard luxe sunglasses with mirrored lenses and 4) Missoni’s Giacomo zig-zaggedy gym towel.

For lazy days on the beach Daniel likes Paul Smith comfy swim shorts and flip-flops with a colorful Trilby straw on top. Throw it all into Swims’s lightweight waterproof duffel with a signature PS beach towel, and he’s good to go. Hours later, where has the time gone? Must check Brera two-tone, stainless steel & rose gold Isabella watch. Matches his tan. Stunning.

Campana Recommends: After a long workout, before a night out on the town or an evening in with friends, indulge in Kilian‘s latest addition to Babalu’s Perfume Bar —  Asian TalesBamboo Harmony, a perfume with luminous notes of bergamot, bigarade and neroli created in Paris by noted parfumier Calice Becker. In China, bamboo is the symbol of human perfection — the main representation of Art and Beauty.

Kismet! It’s the perfect match for this wearer.

Sharon Gless a.k.a. “Michael Westen’s” mom in “Burn Notice,” picked up a pair of Kartell Glue Cinderella black-and-white ballerina flats at Babalu. Wonder if she’ll wear them next time she strolls by her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame? I’d like to get a picture of that. There’s her star — emblazoned on the sidewalk on the north side of the 7000 block of Hollywood Boulevard, in between Doug McClure and her “Cagney & Lacey” co-star Tyne Daly. (Note: There’s an app for that: Los Angeles Times’s Star Walk, $2.99.)

Meanwhile, back in rainy-day reality Miami, it’s not a bad idea to keep a pair or two of these a la Chanel-y jellies in your trailer. This chic Kartell-.normaluisa collaboration on the classic ballet slipper is made in Italy via an injection-molding technology that creates two-tone shoes by combining transparent and opaque materials. Rad. The Cinderella comes in a range of shades including neutral beige, deep blue, white, red, violet, green, and crystalline. Who knows? They might even make it into Wardrobe on “Burn Notice” Season 6 on USA-TV. Watch for it.

Baires: Argentine starters & libations 1/2 off.

Nothing says happy more than a drink at the end of the day with friends. Well, alright, there is one thing. (Hint: Ask George Clooney.) Then, there’s the other — that warm tingly feeling of snagging a deal and getting more bang for your buck. So, this month, in the spirit of all good things, we raise our glasses to that time-honored American tradition — Happy Hour! Skol! Chin-chin! Salud!

Handle with care. Escentric Molecules, the latest addition to our Perfume Bar, just might strike a love spark. These cultish molecular potions by German parfumier Geza Schoen takes the ancient craft of perfumery back to its roots by isolating singular components to create potent reductions of intense sensual aromas. The result: Love Potion No. 1, 2, and 3?

Escentric Molecules 01 – E01

Escentric 01 consists of one single ingredient, also known as ‘Iso E Super’ in the fragrance biz. On its own, it’s less of an aroma than an effect. The wearer may notice a pleasant, subtle velvety-woody note which will vanish, then resurface after some time, but more than this, she/he will notice the impact it has on other people, because Molecule 01 lends an indefinable radiance to the wearer. Emotional and dazzling.

Notes: Iso E Super, pink pepper, lime peel, orris

Escentric Molecules 02 – E02

Escentric 02 blends the note with vetiver and the cruelty-free musk impostor muscone. Add a touch of orris, elderflower extract and the sunny, jasmine-like feel of hedione, and it’s light, refreshing brisk fragrance enchants from beginning to end. It’s the kind of brisk you think of when sniffing a fresh gin and tonic over ice, only Escentric 02 has a fanatstic mineral-like finish that amps things up to spectacular. It’s a wear-anytime, go-anywhere scent with a relaxed, unassuming nature — utterly at ease, totally uncomplicated and easy-going.

Notes: Ambroxan, vetiver, muscone, orris, elderflower

Escentric Molecules 03 – E03

Escentric 03 is a tribute to the more familiar side of vetiver: its dark, slightly exotic woodiness. It opens with a burst of freshness – the ginger root is joined by top notes of green peppercorn and Mexican lime. The heart of orris is surrounded by Egyptian jasmine and soft tea notes. Then, at the base of the fragrance, the slightly bitter notes of vetiver are smoothed by rich amber shades of sandalwood, cedar, leather and musk. It’s spicy but fresh with warm balsamic undertones, like a traditional chypre. It’s sensuous without sweetness — the signature of perfumer Schoen. And, because he excels at unexpected associations, you may detect a fugitive tang of ginger ale. The aroma-chemical in Molecule 03 is vetiveryle acetate — a stark, clinical name for a vetiver note celebrated in its purest form in this fragrance.

Notes: Vetiver, ginger root, green peppercorn, Mexican lime, Egyptian jasmine, tea, amber, sandalwood, leather, musk

The Crown Jewels

The Queen Mum’s got nuthin’ on Snoop, decked out in King Baby regalia like your Dogg daddy.

Get the look: King Baby‘s fat F— You silver band says it all.

Posing comes naturally to a designer pooch named Buddy, NIBA HOME‘s infamous in-house mascot (and model). Fluffed and plopped on his master’s newest made-in-Miami creation, The Flamingo Sofa, designed by facconable proprietress Nisi Berryman, Buddy, 16, is a dog with humble beginnings. He was a rescue.
Shown here in NIBA’s summer “Staycation” postcard wearing a Paul Smith signature-striped leather collar and rose-colored Ray-Ban aviators (below), this affable Jack Russell terrier mix is just at home in NIBA’s showroom in the Design District (where everybody knows his name), as well as in his own back yard. No kooky canine antics like gnawing on the sofa’s Lucite legs or drooling on the ultra-suede pillows. Buddy’s a good boy.
